View all of the homes that sold in north and south Redondo Beach during the month of January.    It was a slower, but solid month for home sales and home prices in Redondo Beach during the first month of the year.

There were 62 home, townhome and condo sales in Redondo Beach during January which was the lowest number of  home sales since last June.  The median “list” price was $1,199,950 with the median “sold” price at $1,241,000 indicating a very solid “seller’s” market and meaning that most homes sold well over the asking price. Redondo Beach Real Estate Recap for 2020

What a year it was for the Redondo Beach real estate market.  There were 829 on MLS home and property sales compared with 861 in 2019.  The median sales price was a very impressive $1,250,000.  The homes only averaged 29 days on market before selling and the average price per foot was up quite a bit from 2019 to $651 a foot in 2020.

The Highest Priced Home Sale in Redondo Beach During 2020

The highest priced home sale in all of Redondo Beach during 2020 was a< beachfront estate that sold at $9,975,000. 717 Esplanade offered an incredible location with an estate style layout. Originally listed in 2013 at $14,250,000, the home had years of price reductions and realtor changes. It’s a spectacular house and there’s just not much, if anything, like it…but the reality was it was priced way too high for Redondo Beach. After years of price reductions the one that finally worked was a price of $9,975,000 back in July of 2019. It took a while but it went into escrow in January 2020 and closed in February. The home offered 4 bedrooms, 6 1/2 baths and an incredible 7,000+ square feet.  The sales price was $9,675,000.

What a month it was for home sales in Redondo Beach.  Homes that closed in December sold well over their asking price once again.

It was another big month for home sales and home prices in Redondo Beach during the month of December. It was far from a slow market around the holidays with 74 on market home sales. The median “list” or asking price of the homes that sold was $1,290,000 with the median “sold” price was $1,310,000 meaning that homes generally sold well over their asking prices. It was definitely a seller’s market. The average price per square foot was $742.56.
